South Africa Menswear week 2018

This upcoming weekend in one of Cape Towns most iconic buildings, the first of the fashion week platforms happening in Africa takes place.

South African Menswear week will be showcasing the latest AW 2018 collections from menswear designers on Friday 9 February and Saturday 10 February 2018 at the City Hall, Cape Town City

The Platform: South African Menswear Week is Africa’s only stand-alone platform dedicated to the development and promotion of menswear within the African continent.  Taking place twice a year in Cape Town, South Africa, #SAMW aims to provide a world-class platform for menswear designers and brands to showcase their latest collections.

In Summary: 24 designers, 3 presentations, 2 days.

The Great Anticipation: Chu Suwannapha’s return to the runway with brand Chulaap.

Keeping a fashionable eye on: Tokyo James (Nigeria) and his collaboration with Vlisco; Imprint (South Africa) presentation because of the prints, patterns and unique aesthetic, and lastly the popular squad of Cape based designers Young and Lazy, Sol Sol, 2BOP, Good Good Good for their take on streetwear and more.

Wondering: who or what will make it a memorable experience? As a btw, last year, I loved the @youngstacpt performance (I didn’t know who he was then), now I know.p.s will post the video of that  performance on @refashionafrica Instagram and Facebook pages

@refashionafrica will be covering: 2 days of menswear fashion on Instagram and Facebook. Look out for Live Vids, Designer interviews, runway looks and streetstyle, plus reviews on and VogueItalia

Lastly, here’s easy reference to the schedule.
