Better late than never. Still wanted to show an overview of whats in circulation for the next several days as we swing into the second of the month and just before October issues hit the stands.
I like to get an overview of what’s published on the magazine front for Woman in the African and Diaspora market. I generally don’t include the Global Mag Brands such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, Glamour etc but sometimes I do.
Here are some of the September 2016 covers (or latest available).
To be on the September cover of US Vogue is a major deal and gives the cover star a kind of legendary status. Well, less so than in the past, but it still holds some sway.
And the reason is because it’s the start of the new fashion season and the magazine shows the forthcoming collections.
So in the old days it was the fashion bible for woman who wanted to know what styles were in and where their hemlines should end.
But since the internet, may be not so much. However, I’ve got to say I still think that given the fact that Spring/Summer season starts in September, (in the Southern hemisphere), all the more reason to go all out and make a splash on the cover and produce a bumper issue that will not only get you ready for resort season but keep you in good company until December holidays.
I don’t think any of the below magazine covers are in that space.
Which one would you pick up? Which one inspires you? What do you think?
